Killed a little buck Saturday morning. Went back the next day and shot a doe in the same area within 100 yards of the first kill site and we checked in on the first kill site. Had a visitor..........

Our next door neighbour said she saw a big bear a week ago, well after the two feet of snow came.

It's not terribly unusual. But they usually don't go far from the den this late in the year so most late wanderers are never seen, or tracked.

Nice Deer, and cool experience. Sharing your hunting spot with a hungry bear always adds a bit of excitement.

Not a lot of Grizz around here, but I've seen a few tracks in mid winter.
Tracked a few Blacks mid winter too.

But I've had a number of people tell me they don't believe it.

Well Keg, if my Grandfathers were around still and they saw the geese covering the fields west of Edmonton in November, they wudn't believe that either. There is some strange goings on in the nature world these days thats for sure my friend!!! :)

That is a very large wolf track....

Years ago watched a very big grizzly walk past my truck in -30 during late December. Old timer with me said the biggest boars stay out late and actually hunt down black bears and dig them out of their dens. High protein meal that is full of fat and doesn't fight back. Not sure if it is true but sounded possible.

My daughter and I saw a nice black bear sunday afternoon , feeding in our alphalpha field , she was pretty surprised to see him , so much so that she looked at me said she'd left her bear tag at home !:angry3: but we smiled and said it was pretty cool !

Sorry for my earlier statement. Sometimes its hard to gauge the level of sarcasm. It obviously went over my head!! :)

Nice buck 1899b, congrat's.

Sad to see a good size buck was hit by a vehicle along hwy 19 just west of Nisku and east side of RR 255.

There's a real big bull Moose hanging out along the highway here.

I just hope he doesn't get hit before I get a chance to hunt him.
Lots have been hit lately.

I have used an air horn to scare them hoping they run deeper in the bush....
