With the ice getting thicker, I was looking for advice as to trout lures for the "hard water" season. thanks.

A small white twister tail with a pink jig head has caught tons of stocked trout for me.

Another good one to try would be a bead head wooly bugger in different colors.

If you want to try bait you can try corn, worms, cheese, shrimp, maggots, or meal worms on a small jig head.

x2...

Nate knows whats up.

Small jigs tipped with bait usually produce well for me, have also caught them on white jigs w/o bait as well.

Also, small jigging hooks work very well too (baited as desired).

I have a nice little spot for us to go this winter Erik to hook into a bunch of nice fat bows.

I took Kaden and my nephew Gavin out there this fall and they crushed the bows.

No one is ever out there either.

Your not invited... :thinking-006:

If you come down south we *might* be able to arrange something.. no passing out on the ice from a hangover though.

If you can make it down here I will take you out and show a few little spots I like to punch some holes.

Maybe swap for a trip up in your area for some monster lakers or something.

anything that imitates a baitfish. the bigger, the better. whatever you choose, fish it aggressively and distressed.
