Opening Day Whitetail!

Well, needless to say, we were lucky to get him out before the snow was flying today! Dad and I hunted hard yesterday and I was rewarded with a 90yd. broadside shot on this beauty! One tap from the brand new xbolt 270, and a federal 130gr. blue pill found its way to the wheel house! Very proud of this prairie buck! Only downside was a busted off G2. But a great hunt with my father nonetheless. For those that recognize the country, you know I didn't shoot this guy up top! It was a tough drag yesterday, only to put him to bed at sun down, before retrieving him this morning...unscathed by predators. Thanks again to my father for the help! This hunt is dedicated to my father-in-law who passed away after a long battle with cancer a month ago. Thanks for watching over us Jamie!

Picture 4 shows you exactly where I shot him. We were settled in above his right G3 in the picture. He came out above my right shoulder. And that's where he dropped. Needless to say, the Milk is quite cold this time of year!

RW, its an app on my iphone called Camera+. Due to the low light this am, I edited the photos to enhance the colors. I can post a before and after if you'd like? I use the app on a ton of photos that I take with my phone.

I've hiked that area a ton and without an animal it's tough. We packed a nice Mulie out from down in one of those dirty cuts one season. Ropes are a must, hope you had some. :)
