found 3 or 4 inches today, seemed to get thinner further out, seriously thinking about giving it a go tomorrow, its ony about 3 or 4 feet deep there. rope tied to shore and floater coat, see how brave I am in the morning

Fished Travers today, in 30 some years never hardwater fished in S. Ab at this time of year. 2 1/2" ice, managed a couple of small pike and decent walleye. No wind, lots of sunshine, ducks, geese, eagles, snowy owls, deer, great day to be outside.

2 1/2" of ice!!?? Man I'm itching for some hard water action, but is it really safe to be out on 2 1/2"?

Those fish any good to eat. My son lives there and we always put em back.

Never have fished em through the ice. I know the fish at Arbour taste real mushy and almost mud like so I was assuming Bonavista trout would be similar.
