Is anyone else ripping their hair out wanting to set up on the ice? I don't even want to read other threads showing guys catching already but are probably 6 hours from me...

Somebody posted that they were fishing Travers already.

Anybody going out this early should make sure they've got ice picks or fish in water they can touch bottom in. It wouldn't hurt to have a full set of dry replacement clothes in the vehicle for "Just In Case"

I had almost given up on my icefishing plans for the year but I am starting to reconsider now that we have had some cold weather. There's nothing like thinking that the fishing sucks that day only to watch a Tipup flag spring into the air or a jigging rod to all of a sudden feel like there's a log on the end of it.

I'm looking forward to trying some spots fairly early season with some new techniques, but I think there are still a couple open water fishes to be had.

Can't say I'm too jealous though because I wont drive very far very often.
