ice fishing tue. nov 13

went for a quickie this afternoon after seeing how nice it was yesterday. there was some amateur on the pond trying to muscle his way on to my sweet spot but he had a brand new power auger that he let me use so i let him live. ice was 5 1/2" thick. the amature outfished me catching 2 including a nice fat 13". i got skunked but enjoyed every minute.
p.s. has anyone ever heard of sprinkling black pepper into your gloves to keep your hands warm? supposed to work great.

Looks like they must have stocked some really small ones in there this year, the smaller one sure hasn't put on much weight.

Looks like the amateur was using Marmish... may not be such an amateur afterall!

Was out today and it didn't go all that well. Ice was a lot thicker than I thought it would be. Decided I should buy an auger instead of using the ice chipper :budo:
