Here some wire worms I've used over the past couple of years that are killer patterns on whites in shallower waters, bump along the bottom then raise with short chops up wards and hang in, got this off a guy up in the Yukon a few years ago.

I've tipped with maggots the odd time, most if the time they slam them on the way down , I use a simi seal sparkle bend, put some thin lead wire under and top off with colored wire worm wire, bushy up the body and let it down, I've used it really well with a Marmish rod.

These are the poor boy home made wire worms that I inherited from my long passed Hungarian father-in-law. Never tried them, but one day in his honor.

Just started this year fishing whites.

Yup, I've got a pail full of those from my father, they are all hooked up to wooden paint sticks that you stir paint with when you buy a gallon of paint, with about 10 to 15 feet if old heavy mono line, when the bite is on it all works, the green head with copper body work awesome st Gull lake for me over the years.

Red wire worms are awesome for lake whites during the spawn. I used to primarily use Wetaskiwin specials but last year I did much better with the wire worm.

I have a home made wireworm that has been deadly on occasion for whites. All I did was a simple braid of red and yellow wire, and wrapped it onto a hook. Could not keep the whites off it the one time.
