Went out for an hour this afternoon. Caught 2 gators in 45 minutes. Ice was 4" thick with minimal snow cover and hoar frost.

Was only fishing in 2.5 ft of water And white jig with a smelt was the bait of choice. More updates tomorrow

I didn't even think it was frozen over yet. With the upcoming temps, things are going to get hard, fast......ice that is.....

Was working about a mile from the lake (near Mulhurst) this week, didn't have time to check the ice though. Froze over from what I could see.

here is a couple pics of a few of the gators we got. Fished sunday and went as deep as 5 FOW. With 3 little kids with me and no other adults around I wasn't in the exploring kinda mood to go out further although there were people fishing off the point of itasca, Johnsonia that looked to be much farther out. likely in 8-12 FOW.

interesting.... I was out 300 ft in 7 FOW in front of my place and the ice was less than 6" thick. Ice fishing was pretty slow in my area too but the rink is coming along well :)
