What a way to spend a Monday

Wasn't having a good Monday at work, so at 1:30 decided to take the half hour drive to the lake to see what the ice was like. 5 inches of clear black ice. So I sat down to some fishing.

I don't what nailed this one 9 lb Pike but I wish I could have enticed it to bite.

Ended the day with catching two 9-10 lbs each. Lost 2 about the same and one hog that nailed my flutter spoon just under the ice as I was pulled it in to check if the small piece of minnow tail was still on it, the line was slack over my hand when it hit.

Ate a nice fried fresh Winter Pike meal with the family. Sat down with a big rum and coke and the football game. Didn't mind this Monday after all!

good for you. not many people can just drop everything and head out to enjoy nature. i bet you were also cheering for the 49"s. while you ate those fillets. congrats.
