Hey guys,
I had this dandy deer show up on my cameras mid October and spent every waking minute thinking about/hunting him. He made regular appearances usually between 1:20-1:30am up until Nov 02, then he went into "ghost" mode. On Nov 04 morning I discover a 20' radius where one hell of a fight went down. this is abot 50 yards from where my camera is and 20 yards from his rut pit and lick branch. Nov 07, I "think" I see the big boy at about 300yards running with 6-7 does and my hope is revived. The remainder of the season passes without another peep at him...I recently moved my cameras to some heavily used trails and good food sources in hopes of seeing that he made the season. Looking back at my pics from last year I have a large mainframe 4x4 with a kicker off the base of his right G2 which would score about 150" this deer looks a lot like the buck I have been after all season. Could a deer put on 35" in a single season? I think it is him. I am usually pretty pumped to get into icing some perch as soon as Hunting is done, but all I can think of is this deer and awaiting shed hunting. TRAGEDY STRIKES...lol...Yesterday I found out that he was harvested Nov29 about 2.5 miles south of where I spent the majority of my season...dissapointed,if he had another year he may have grossed close to 200" but there are plenty of deer in the sea, hopefully I can get some pics of the deer that ran him off Nov 03...congrats to the lucky hunter that gets to put him on his wall...if he is a member on the forum feel free to post some of his field pics to go along with his trail pics that I have posted here...the deer ended up scoring 186"...the last pic is what I believe is him from 2011, do you guys think it is the same deer or am I out to lunch?
