Hey just curious about somethin. Couple questions for you veterans
I keep hearing talk about cats that don't tree, does this happen very often to guys out there? I've been treeing cats for 7 years now and treed lots but never had one not tree. What happens when they don't tree how do you know they don't tree? I've had them tree and keeping jumping out till they find a good tree but I dunno maybe I just don't have enough experience yet?? Just curious. Thanks

I've heard of old misserable cats that won't tree just keep running the dogs. They must of figured out climbing a tree means bad things for them.

Some cats that have been handled in radio collaring program or have killed a hound might know they don't have to cooperate. Doesn't happen often.

I was hunting cats in the Fraser river valley a few years ago. Our guide told us about a cat that killed over a dozen dogs. He would never tree, just run the dogs a ways than turn and kill them all...Not sure the truth behind it, but it does make sense. Those cats are like can openers, one swipe is all it would take.

That's wild that's one cat I would not want my dogs to run into.

I had 2 dogs killed by Females in one week. When you find your dog, you know they didn't tree.

Iv'e only had one cat that wouldn't tree, a big tom. The trees were pretty small where we caught him, but he could have went up one if he wanted to. The vet bill for 2 hounds was $480 to sew them back up, the dogs wouldn't quit fighting the cat. Once we finally caught the dogs, the cat just looked at us and slowly walked away.
