I hunted Blackfoot quite a few times this year! I saw quite a few animals, just not the right ones. Ran into 4 bull elk one morning, and they just stood at 200 yards! They knew I drew a cow tag! One was a pretty good 6 pointer and the other 3 were 5 pointers! We also ran into half a dozen moose in a bunch. On the last morning I encountered a cow elk before legal. By the time legal light came somebody else had already fired at her. Overall, it was a good experience! I even lost 5 lbs!

Nice bull! I was in there quite a few times this fall for grouse and saw about 10 moose, a few herds of cow elk and calf's. I should draw my moos next year!

I hunted about 14 days in there with my bow. 0 days with a rifle. Such an awesome area. Anyone who bowhunts in there and wants a rut hunt, PM me please with your contact info.

Nice Elk!!

At first I saw the whole elk and thought "how the heck did he get a bull out of blackfoot whole?".....then I scrolled to the second pic.....sweet setup although I'm sure getting the elk in the sled whole was still a task!!

Man a task if someone was watching i bet they would havehad a heck of a laugh. I bet that elk weighed in the area of 700 lbs after we got back we couldnt get the elk out we un hooked the horses and flipped the slay upside down and still had trouble getting him out.

Spent a few days scouting prior to the season and had my eye on a heard that was coming into a field at first and last light. Day 1 was a blizzard.... and day two I called in and shot a my cow elk at about 120 yards. Guttless method and was out before dark.

Good work I thought i would have to pack my elk out until my friends dad came through with his team of horses and saved the day thats for sure. Cant wait to get in there again. Amazing Country sure keeps the truck hunters out of the area
