My 2012 Whitetail

Well I guess I will post some pics so my buddy stops harassing me. Shot 2nd last week of November. Sorry for the bad pics, after I shot him and drug him to back out to the truck I realized that I couldn't load him myself. Time for the phone a friend...happy I got some field pics at least. Pictures are usually not on my mind after I harvest an animal.

Story...I have one of "those" spots that everyone else overlooks. Road bombers drive all around it, but nobody ever walks into it. I have been watching the spot for a couple years. Small pc of bush with brushy field beside it. The small pc of bush is right next to some substancial bush. Until this year, it had always been littered with nice 150 class deer max, but the potential was there. Walked into it mid week on the way home from work and noticed that the little dinkers were not even hanging around with the does...somebody new must have run them off. Hunted it the next evening, does but buck no showed. Got out a little earlier the next day (before the deer), and found a nice spot to lay down and watch. The does started to filter into the little hidden spot in the field around 45 mins befor legal. All going according to plan. The buck finally popped out into a wind row where I couldn't see him, everyonce in a while he gave me half a main beam to look at. Does got out a little further...buck stuck his head out of the wind row for half second...Whoa! I clicked my safety off...doe heard me (they were 50 yards away)...doe circled out into the field trying to get down wind of me...Buck didn't like that, jumped out of the trees to follow...My mistake worked out, dropped the Buck at 150 yards single shot to front shoulder. I was pretty pumped when I finally got a close up viewing. No ground shrinkage at all. I guess I will continue to keep a close eye on that spot!
