There are many "Clear lakes" in Alberta, we're talking about the one just east of Stavely.

Went out yesterday with K-peda and there was a foot of the clearest ice I've ever seen, we could see the bottom through the ice in 8-10 feet. Set up just north of the boat launch and had one in the first 5 minutes. We ended up catching 6 and missing even more (apparently I need to work on my hook set) with the biggest being just over 6 lbs. Not big fish by any means but better than what I'm used to (Chestermere lake). I've never fished ice that clear, you could watch them swim away with your bait and see the whole fight through the ice.

I'll update with a couple pictures and a quick video when I get them uploaded.

Here's a couple pictures and a quick video, as I said they weren't huge fish but still a fun day. In the video you can catch a quick glimpse of the fish through the ice showing just how clear it is. I was a little freaked out at first with the ice so clear. Also, all these fish were released unharmed including me cutting a $6 smelt holder that's almost impossible to buy nowadays.

We're going out again this saturday if anyone's interested, might be a little chilly but I want a 40+" pike through the ice. Cheers.....
