WSS has on sale the Brunton line of handheld wind meter/altimeter/weather stations currently.

Does anyone have one of these? How are they? Any other models in a similar price range someone can recommend?

The Kestral is the best consumer model I've seen but have no experience with the Brunton...what are they on sale for?

Just the "wind" model is about ~$55

The "summit" model is on for ~$89

The "Pro" model is on for ~$140

I think they are 15% off of regular pricing. I was looking at the Brunton website and the Pro looks like it goes for closer to $300!

They are waterproof, comes with lanyard and extra battery. The "Pro" has a ton of weather predicting features...I think I would personally go with the "Summit" model for myself.

I was going to buy the wind model, only because I don't need any bells and whistles. Just need to know the current wind, gusts and average but that's just me.

Caldwell has a pretty cheap wind meter that works very well.
