Had a good day, went from never catching/ targetting whites to abosolutly hammering them. Pulled out 25 total, back to back out of the same hole!

No I was not poaching, these are not all mines, i was with a bunch of people, and yes they are all getting smoked, so dummy up before guys guys start assuming stuff. just cuase people are jealuse, dont need to be hating!

thanks guys,, the lake was HOt ,, caught 25 whites myself out of the same hole, and could of kept going shut her down at 330 ish, they were just hammering everytime i put my hook down, but the guys using rods were only catching a few, they nible really light and you gotta be quick on the draw. also caught 2 burbs and a 10lbs jack, i think im down catching whites for the year :bad_boys_20: time for some throphy pike

nice haul buddy. you said these lake whites were destined for the smoker, what kind of a shelf life do they have after smoking? can you freeze them after or does that ruin the quality and freshness?

Its called a freezer. Eat a few fish put the rest in the freezer. Take some out later to enjpoy another meal.

Not to steal the thread, but what is the best technique to catch whitefish? I've never targeted or caught any? So I'm not sure at all on how to fish for them?

Bgh isn't jelious. We limited out before 9am. Not bad for a quick outing. Plus we caught more then that after the fact. I think what jakes getting at is that you pulled out 25 from one hole and we assumed that all the ones in the pic came out of that hole and nobody shares a hole when your a group so it's pretty logical to think that you we're by yourself and kept over your limit.

Anyways good haul out there! :)

So why not ask how many people the OP was fishing with, instead of accusing him poaching straight away? Jumping to those conclusions is completely ridiculous.

WELL DONE SIR!! I never really got into the whites, caught a few here and there, but maybe Ill look a little deeper into it now , that sure looks like fun!! No better way to get kids into something cool then show them a day like that!! As for mister poopy pants, I do belive you mentioned this wa the first time you actually mananged to get into the whites.....soooooo in as many years as you have been fishing, you have managed to whipe out the Alberta white fish population in 1 day by following the law and taking a lifetime total of 16 or so fish between you and your boy....hummmm being a good father and responsible sportsman in my books.

I used to post pics all the time and now I avoid it because the one or two jerks who want to rain on your parade seem to spoil the threads all the time. Way to go and keep on catching more.

i'm very jealous. not of the fish (great catch), but because you could walk out on the ice (or drive) with your gear and not have to plow through a foot of snow with 6" of flood water under it. looks like you and your son had a great day.
