what a crazy day on the lake. tried somewhere new today, lost way more fish than I landed, but came home still rushing from adrenalin :sHa_shakeshout:
fishing 10 feet of clear water, had a little chub on :bad_boys_20: flathead that is. Looked down to see a pike easily 20 pounds come in and take it. Had one hook in its mouth, I decided to wait til it got both just to be sure, and the :angry3: fish spit it out instead. Man I hate it when a big girl spits out my chub!!!! landed a few hammerhandles, lost some decent 10 poundish fish, and made the aquaintance of the biggest pike Ive ever seen in person. I look down and there is a 5 poundish pike at each of my baits, great, going to get another double header! :sHa_shakeshout: they are both closing in, and then like a flash they are gone, WTH??? Then I see a head, and a belly, like one of those pike they catch over in Europe with the big beer gut. Looks at my bait, then swims over and checks out the sucker I have down in the other hole, then gives me the fin and casually swims off into the sunset. Im going to bust my azz over the holidays to get re-aquainted, and get her up for some pictures, that fish was well over 30 pounds. Got a bit of video of her, but it doesnt nearly do her justice! What a heart pounding day, going to have to go to work tomorrow to relax.
This video was a hammerhandle that wouldnt take no for an answer, I took the herring away from it once, it came right up to the hole after it, then when I put the bait back down ...I like the way the herring got flung across the tent so I could use it again.
