I got a bushnell trophy xlt trail camera and was wondering if running it out in this cold of weather would damage it any way thanks

I'm running 6 different Bushnell's right now. The cold doesn't seem to hurt them but they stop working around -15.

I got a couple primros cam's out right now and they have been working well in consistently -25 weather. Got a couple pics the other night of coyotes at 1 am in -28. They eat batteries in the cold though.

I bought 3 Ltl Acorns a month ago & they're working really well so far. I have pictures at -30 so far & batteries haven't been an issue yet. So far they're the best I've used but I think I'll try the Primos out now as well.

I have two bushnell trophycams and they work well down to -25 or even lower but you have to use GOOD batteries like Durecell. I think the responce time is slower the colder it gets, or maybe its just me !!

Time to hook up the car battery.
Put the battery in an old picnic cooler to help insulate it.

I run my own homemade cams and it all depends on batteries guys. You have to use lithiums in cold weather. Cold does not affect them as much as other types. Alkalines are the worst for cold. I get my lithiums off of e-bay and get the blue coated ones and they are the same rating as the energizers and have the same power in them at half the cost. I get them shipped over from China. With 2 AA batteries I usually get 700+ pics

My Moultrie takes pics at -26 and -27 as well....it's just that they are blank pics or shots of the ***** ends of animals...

Use Lithium batteries and your performance will improve

Energizer has dropped the price of the E2 Lithium Advanced AA.
Not as good as the Untimate AA but you can get 8 for about $17 now, used to be 4 for $14. Ultimate are still up there at about $17 for 4 though.
Both good in -25C or so but twice the pics on the Ultimate AA.

Those blue Lithiums on ebay were about a buck a piece. Same Mah rating as the Energizer when I checked them. If your not in a hurry then ordering them for the price is the better choice is what I have found.

I have one with a separate, 2nd battery pack, with a solar charger on it, no troubles at all yet, well so far, will be the test in this cold.

Over 60 coyote photos taken in past week (couple jack rabbits posed as well) and the temperature has been really cold -25 --29 every night. Put 10 fresh AA batteries in this new Bushnell cam in September and as far as I can tell it hasn't missed a beat. Now if only the coyotes would come around before dusk or after dawn!

Don't get a "Stealth-Cam Unit" model U840-IR. I bought a 2-pack of them a couple years ago. The battery pack didn't last even one night, on either of them. Overnight temp at the time was still about +5C. I downloaded and installed some updated firmware that was available. Made no difference. Wrote to StealthCam (email). Got a polite reply from them telling me to download and update my firmware, which I had already done. So now I have about $200 worth of junk sitting around the garage. Maybe some others have the same cams that are ok, but I'll never get another StealthCam of any model.

I just recently bought 8 Energizer Ultimate Lithiums for $15.54 at walmart. $7.77 for the 4 pack. Somehow the 4 pack works out to be cheaper then the 8 pack, go figure.

this may sound like a stupid question, but the spypoint camera recommends alkaline batteries, are lithium really that much better. i have never had a trail camera before and am experimenting with it. thanks for the help.

As far I as I know it was regular price, trust me I'm just as shocked as you are. But I know where I'm getting my batteries from now on.
