View Full Version : Wabamun best for kids?
Just getting back into ice fishing and looking to take my boys (3 & 6) out for a few hours on new years day. Read a lot of the threads here to get ideas. Is Wabamun the best bet for a spot where we can hope to catch a few? I live a bit east of Ardrossan.
Thanks,
Bob

Wabamun is a phenomenal place for kids. Set up a few tip-ups for pike and then jig for perch/whitefish, its almost constant action and will keep the kids entertained.

X2, you can also get shiners when jigging for perch/whites.
There super hard to catch, and not really worth it. Its more of an accident when your going for perch :sHa_shakeshout:
Pike action is steady if you put a nice size smelt below a tipup. Go out by fallis, about as far out as everyone else and you will hook up.
Thanks for the help. Really looking forward to taking the boys out!
