That is true! Don't set it in the shade, or it probably won't start.

I got one a few weeks ago, have had no problems with it at all. I've been out 8-9 times with it and even in the bitter cold, it fired up. Granted, I keep it in the cab of the truck to make sure its warm but that just makes sense.

I like the fact it doesn't have the stink a gas one does and no buying and mixing gas n oil. If I had to, I'd buy another one tomorrow for sure.

Just my opinion though, you'll find out for yourself.

I returned mine a few days ago, was broken on the top plastic housing, after taking a good look at it I decided it was not the right auger for me, way to many plastic components, throttle lever plastic, leaking issues from the hose, etc.Its not like you're paying 299 for the auger, 550 is a lot $ for something that seems to be not put together very well.

Used it the last 2 days.
I went a little crazy punchin holes, must of done about 35-40 holes.

Didn't have any probs,, the plastic choke concerns me a bit.. I got the gas 4stroke.

BTW this is the first one I've ever owned, its been Armstrong power all my life...

Geeze I wuz missing out.

Had my 10" out yesterday worked great started first pull all day long. My buddy has a newer jiffy 2 stk and he had to pull that thing 15 to 20 times to start it every time. The only thing that happend to me a couple of times while drilling was the blades would ice up and stop cutting. Not sure if that's a common thing, but it never happend to me with my older jiffy. Could have been just the conditions out. Overall real happy with the propane so far.
