Thinking about buying a new rifle soon! Any thoughts good or bad on the sako 85 finnlight?

Have you shouldered one? Did it feel comfortable? Another option you might want to explore would perhaps be a Cooper. I just picked one up over the sako because it felt more comfortable than the sako. I can put three shots in the same hole with a rest and can shoot -2" MOA freehand @ 100yds. It's about the same price range as the finnlight but comes with a 1/2" MOA guarantee.

Something to consider anyway.

Haven't handled a cooper yet but of all the others I keep going back to the sako. It just feels right! Will have to find a cooper and give it a try. Who in the Calgary area carries cooper?

All good. I've got a few Sako's.....because I like them. Can't drill three bullets in the same hole or <2 offhand.....must be me, not the gun.

WSS sports may have one or two around but if your serious about a Copper get a hold of Clay at Prophet River Firearms in Lloydminster. He is the biggest Cooper dealer in Canada. I bought mine there. Great guy to deal with. And just so you know Coopers are awesome. Nothing wrong with Sako either..It would definately be lighter than any Cooper will be.

Dude, I'm not knocking sako, I was just saying what a comfortable rifle can do for you. From what I've heard a sako will put three shots in the same hole with a rest too, maybe you need to find a better load?

I've never fired a Sako finnlight but I have shouldered a few and they all felt awesome! In that price range though I went with the cooper though. It just felt that much better to me and just seemed like a little more solidly built rifle. That's just my opinion though. You definitely wouldn't regret the Sako though.

Bought one for my brother this summer. Mounted a Leuy 3-9 vx3 ultral light on it before I took it to hunting camp to sight it in for him. After sighting it in I decided to use his gun to shoot my buck. I realy liked it. Light, compact, sturdy, and very accurate. I really wanted to keep it instead of giving it away. I guess the best part about it being brothers is I can use it anytime.

You are one heck of a brother! One thing about those optilock rings and bases..... and I like them........is that you can get away with extra low rings and still clear the bbl with a 40mm scope.
