Fished maligne last thursday evening with a friend. We landed 2 each. I caught 2 brookies and my buddy caught a brookie and a rainbow. All brookies were caught near Larry's bay and the rainbow was caught on our way in we decided to make one quick pass in front of the buoys just before dark. Lost a bunch more. Every fish would swim towards the boat so it was hard to keep them on.

Went to Kinky last night and landed 3 and lost a few. Had a loon attack a fish just as i released it. Biggest was around 14".

Overall 2 good evenings of fishing.

Awesome! Thanks for the great reports with pics.

I fished Maligne on the weekend which was an adventure all onto itself. Report to follow later tonight.

At Kinky those loons have learned that technique. They will also try to steal them right off the stringer if you catch and keep one and put it on the stringer. I had to keep a loon at bay with my paddle ...didn't work until I knocked it on the noggin with the paddle. It was wary of the paddle after that. There is typically another loon waiting at the launch. So if the one out on the lake doesn't steal it the one a the launch will do its best to finish the job. Amazing to see but also extremely annoying. Probably not the best learned behavior for a wild animal either.

great catch! where are these places on the lake? im headin up there with my fam on june 20-22 weekend and we are trout fishing newbs (usually fish for eyes only) and need some advice on some places to try fishing. I just want to be able to have my kids catch a few fish while we are there for the day and not get skunked.

we went to kananaskis a few weeks back and hit up the mt lorrette ponds for about 4 hrs one afternoon and i caught two but my boy didnt catch any and was almost in tears when we left........
