View Full Version : Show off your tackle boxes!
Just wondering what you guys all like to use for storing your tackle? I'm old fashioned I guess, I've owned a couple tackle bags or two and I just cant help but hate them. It seems like most of the newer tackleboxes, however, are being made out of too flexible of plastic and end up quite flimsy so my favorites are a couple of Woodstream/ Old pal boxes I've owned since I was a kid.

Although I dont like the tackle bags I have a fair size lunch box/ cooler type thing that can hold a couple small lure boxes and a fair bit of bait. I use it when fishing from shore because it doubles as a seat. In the canoe I use a homemade tacklebox, rod holder, fishfinder unit.

For trout fishing or ice fishing where one typicaly doesnt need too much tackle a little two sided box thrown in a pail or shoved in my pocket is my prefference.

This is my tackle box
I like the trays as it helps keep things dry, organized and easier when you have 3 kids that are always swapping hooks. This is mostly pike/walleye gear
For ice fishing I use a tray similar to one of the 4 in the bin. I only take a few jig heads out of the summer kit.
For all my trout lures, flies, tiny spinners I use a tray as well.

I had the milk crate rod holders like yours in my canoe until I installed 3 Scotty rod holders.
They are great. So much better to work with than the milk crate PVC rod holders. Mostly because they put the rods in a more manageable location.

I've got Scottys on my boat but for me the milk crate works better with the canoe. So wheres your tackle box?

Classy! Do I spot some Super Dupers and a couple kastmasters in there? Where are you getting kastmasters? It seems like for the last few years the biggest size I could find was 1/4 oz. Used to be able to get them all the way up to one oz, would like to pick up a few bigger ones again.
