so im always looking for cheap ways to do stuff

and was thinkin a back up camera kit for a vehicle would be perfect for an under water camera. to ebay i go

there are alot of other kinds on there as well i reality you could have a cam setup with a display for under $50

Canadian tir has underwater cams for 150 and 170 there the cheapest ones if seen

Fork out the money and get something built for what its intended. Being cheap can cost you more money in the long run.

that will work you need to build a pvc housing and sealed really tight. just google it you will see a few home made ones, but you might have to figure something out for the lighting .

Minimum working temperature is 0 degrees c and I would guess the camera is only water resistant and not designed for immersion in water for long periods of time, especially at higher pressure from deeper water.

Spend the money to get a setup meant for underwater or you're just wasting your money, IMO.

I wouldn't waste my $$. Underwater cams are designed to have good light/visibility underwater. Not to mention they are fully submersible and weighted properly.

Got mine from Cabels's on line in the states for $129 on sale and it's served me well for 3 years so far. Like was mentioned above, spend the extra dough and get something designed for the intended use.

bought a fish tv off ebay, 7" screen with 100feet of cable....$125 and $10 for delivery...wirks great...the one your looing for doesn't like the cold so wont be good under the ice...great idea tho...you can get the 7" at WSS for $135...the ones canadian tire are 5"
