Has anyone heard anything about this?

Here is the pic. If the guy who caught it is on this forum, its not my fault for posting it... If your mad, be more careful who you send pics to, as they are texted around like crazy. At least I had the consideration to remove the young man's face.

This pike is a BEAST! Wish she was still swimming around...

That's one heck of a pig for sure,, hard to tell how heavy but who really cares that doesn't change the fact it's a huge fish.

I was trying to bait the real fisherman, but if what Dr.D writes is true, it ain't likely to work.

Can't say I've ever iced a pike in AB.

It's been said that some anglers actually stuff a bunch of lead sinkers down into a fishes belly for various reasons. I would agree with others, you would need at least 15-20 lbs of lead to get the female over 50! Nevertheless, it's still a nice fish, I only wish it would of lived for another day.

I had another look, not a gaff hook ... small cal. bullet holes, it looks a bit like a gater, they shoot them first, then drag them in!

nice fish, no way 50 pounds,IMHO, holding it arms out like that, ive made small fish look big with the way you pose for the camera, looks like it has just had lunch tho. like the others said fish in its belly, bet if you looked in its mouth you might still see its tail.lol . so i have to say B.S

Well guys I didn't want this story to get leaked but sometimes its hard to keep a secret. I nailed this pig on Keho Lake on January 3rd. I came down there knowing that the new provincial record was in this lake. I took my good fishing buddy "Guitarplayingfish" with me and we hit the ice.

I had just purchased a few of those new iFishpro tip ups and wanted to use them really badly. We bought some extra large bait this trip and even used bingo dabbers to put red accents on them. This big ol' girl smoked one of the baits that was set bout 4' under the ice. The fight was long, with many runs ripping the 30# PP into my hands. Quite a mess still I might add.

She weighed in at 41.6 lbs...

WOW!!! FISHERMEN CAN TELL SOME WHOPPER OF A STORY !!!
This fish was caught last summer August I think, I was told from Lake Newell while fishing for walleye couple of Good Ol Newfie Boys. Weight started at 63 pounds, now 50, nother couple months should get to right weight 34 pounds.

NICE TRY THOUGH !!! :)

Yup, but during engagement they'd wear them on the left hand. The rings switch hands at the wedding. Not entirely sure that it's still practiced this way...

Whoops, derail! Sorry... :thinking-006:

that must be one helluva cooler, how much beer did they bring and how did they stretch out the fish to be so limber again? how did they know to bring such a big cooler? wouldn't have the fish of that size melted the ice chippens? why are there still chippens on the fish? i mean august isn't exactly the chilliest month out on the prairies.

why did they use a gaff? i mean if they knew to bring such a big cooler, wouldn't they have brought an equally large net?

Yeah, a german would be wearing camo leiderhosen and the garage would have ornate cucold clocks and the recycling bin would be overflowing with beer steins and fritter wrappers.

You have quite the eye piker, quite the eye.

Wayne ...... you solved the mystery of the hole in his head ......

Think about it ..... if you rolled a pig like that in that much coke you would HAVE TO shoot that freaking thing....

That pig would be bouncing all over the place, blinking and licking his lips.

That would have scared the crap out of them ...... that pig will eat a kid!!!!

I bet they shot a dozen holes in the bottom of the tinner just because the coked up pike was dodging bullets like the matrix.....
