about a week ago i posted seeing an otter on the nsr. at the time i thought it was pretty neat but since then the fishing has dropped off. iv'e been catching 5-10 fish (mostly wallies) in a 2-3 hour session on a reg. bassis but the last couple timeshave been much slower. not sure for certain if the otter is to blame or just a normal slow period but i have my suspicions. it turned into a beautifull night tonight, clear calm and warm though i saw lightning to the west. ended up with 4 wallies (1 chunky 21" who fought hard) and my 2nd sauger of the year.

That's a good indication it's a sauger I don't think I ever seen a walleye with black spots but I can be wrong

it's normal if it's a sauger.

probably the night i froze my a** off. meet a lot of people on the trails doing all kinds of winter activities but i think they think i'm odd walking around with a fishing rod in the middle of winter. oh well.
