I posted at the beginning of the season to stay off the ice with a vehicle down that way. Where the hills syart to rise against the lake there are several springs causing several thinnings alongside thicker ice. Friends of the family went through some years back, mother drowned. Just walk on at the false island instead.

Thank you for the Info!! I have never heard of the False Islan. I know where we fish is nowhere near the N.end tho. I will heed your warnings and avoid the area completely or walk.

There are three decent bays and all accessible with a vehicle and then you can walk on,,, look at google satellite, you'll see.

What about the south end launch? Can a guy drive on and travel that side of the lake safe enough?

That's where I suggest you don't drive on.

You sure can! There will be vehicle tracks.

I belive Gust to be an honest individual who means well, and if he says there is springs in the area and does not recommend driving, I am going to listen. I will be walking to my spot and leave my truck on land.

Tracks or no tracks, people have had vehicles go through the ice not far off the beaten path and I'm not to crazy about risking it. Look at that Newell thread, 20"+ here and 15 yards away or w.e it was 3".
