tyrrell lake stocking?

Does this lake produce lots of trout? I see they put 400000+ trout in thier. Thought it was more along the akaline side and not very productive. Never hear many fishing there for the amount fish put in there.

I faithfully fish this lake once a year but have not caught a fish for 10 yrs. The lake is full of fresh water shrimp,not their real name, and the fish gorge on them making them very hard to catch. I think with all that food the fish grow rapidly and it shortens their lifespan and they die young. The ones I used to catch had huge bodies and very small heads. The govt. seems to make this lake a dumping ground for trout fingerling for what reason I do not know. MY 2c worth

Apparently the lake is incredibly productive allowing for great growth rates. However, due to it's shallow depth there is a yearly winterkill. Not sure why the government throws away so many fish when people can't catch any.
