LOTS of mulies, some of the largest bucks I have seen! My tag was for a different zone and a few herds of 15-20 elk. That's just what I have seen in a 5 day hunt.

LOTS of mulies, some of the largest bucks I have seen! My tag was for a different zone and a few herds of 15-20 elk. That's just what I have seen in a 5 day hunt.

We use to have a good mulie buck population in the older mature bucks, but the past few years the 190-200" sized bucks have seen fewer of. Before that would see lots. Cold severe winters probably didnt help. I seen the odd decent sized mulie in my travels last year, but not sighting as many like we use to.

Elk herds are decent, just look at the 2012 Draw Stats - shows how any cow elk tags they handed out in WMU 523 & 527

They are like most other mule deer and elk, mules can be kinda grey. elk are brown. they eat grasses and such. browse to. they are smaller than moose. there are boy elks with antlers, and girls that dont have any but they sure look pretty.
