Good Day for the 30 Somethings

Had a near perfect day at Sunshine Bay with Jack&7, Jack&7 Sr & Jack&7ette Jr. Started with JRette catching the first fish showing Dad & Gramps how its done. Then the 30 somethings started. 33, 34, 36 inches; +/- 10 pounders. Even SR landed a nice one with his piece of wood with mono wrapped around it. No drag, no rod, just him, his line & a single hook. Only reason it wasn't absolutely perfect was because the hog got away. Not sure what happened but after taking 100+ feet of line about 15 feet from the hole she popped off.

Was a great day though.

Yes...it was a good day. I was happiest seeing my youngest daughter catch her first 'real' fish. She has caught stocked pond trout before and pulled up some perch with Sundance...but this was her first out in the wild.

She did it all by herself and was super proud of herself...as was I. In her words, "Best day ever, Dad!"

If that ain't worth the gas money...nothing is.

But on top of that, it was great to see my Dad get out as he turns 80 in a few weeks and he can't get out as much as he would like to. So the weather today made it a good day for him...and then finally hooking into a 34 incher topped it off for him.

Over all...a great day.

Aww! I can just imagine how proud she was of that catch! I'm glad you guys had a great time! Wish I could have been there. I would've had to leave anyway because I got called in to work. Oh well, that's how it goes sometimes. Can't wait to get out with you guys! Congrats on some great fish! :)

Ya...I forgot about that! Haha...

Here is a pic of that MONSTER pike for reference...I think it weighed in at a massive 10 ounces and a huge 12 inches.

It seems the young has a bit of a taste for blood when it comes to fishing. She loves to bonk the keepers and I blame Sundancefisher for that since I took my girls to a Lake Sundance perch bonk-a-thon a few years ago...
