Took the missus out with me today, did ok, managed maybe a dozen decent eyes between us, and a whole lotta hammerhandles, spent a lot of time playing keepaway with the pike since we were mostly using mono and jigs. end of the day I get a bite, could feel it was a decent walleye, so I start bringing it up. get part way up and the fight changes big time, fish got a lot bigger in a hurry. finally get it to the ice, and see 2 fish. wonder how the H I could have two fish on a quarter ounce jig, then see its a good pike with my walleye crosswise in its mouth. Took a swipe at it with my net, but the pike made a couple more runs then let go. landed the 3 pound walleye and let it go, pretty sure I head it yellling NO dont make me go back down there!!!!! :sHa_sarcasticlol: guess I will have to drop a bigger bait tomorrow evening! post some pics in a bit. got another ton of good video again, poor camera is going to be all chewed up by the end of the season!

Right on buddy. Jack&7 got a couple good ones on big moby baits yesterday. And I lost a hog on a 4" smelt. Renewed my faith in large bait.

I never get tired of your videos Wayne - and I will giggle every single time you set the hook and the fish gets close lined like an episode of stampede wrestling. Just makes me laugh.

Pondering the bait, they knew it was a bad idea, and something is suspicious, yet they have a nibble only to be jerked up like sling shot .....lol.

Looks like one of those Pike was considering your camera for a snack - can't wait to see that video.

Nice job - thanks for posting.

doesnt aquaview have a dvr you can plugin to record fishin vids ?
or does it not work to well ?
what about pluging in a normal vid camera to aquaview , will that work ?

we were gonna try using vid camera on our last trip to slave , but fishing was so good , i never even pulled out camera .
any info would be sweet , thanx

Great videos Wayne.......your the only guy i know that goes out of his way to not catch a fish.........admit it you love those lil hammerhandles

hammerhandles are fun, but i was looking for those baitstealing walleyes, and using mono too. Aquaview does make a DVR but its crap, have to look into a cheap videorecorder, no reason it shouldnt work. was thinking maybe a cheap laptop next winter, could go through footage and delete the waste stuff when the fishing is slow.

thanks for the great vids. wayne. can't imagine how much time you put in getting them together. iv'e noticed a theme both on your vids and watching them live on a buddies. the pike seem to be more interested in a "static" kill then when twitch a little to entice. my buddy has a theory that a lot of the fish have been caught and released before and that makes them shy of that last little twitch. the wallies seem to be much more aggressive to a moving or "twitching" presentation
very glad that your cameras seem to be working well again.
have you been staying after dark and has it made a differince?

some of the pike may have been caught, but they dont get any pressure there, besides me mostly. yesterday I noticed we had a period where we caught about 6 or 7 pike in 15 minutes, then it slowed, even the first walleye were charging the bait. after that it slowed so that we had 3 and even 4 pike hanging around, but could barely get them to come to the baits, a few would mouth them but not hit hard. wasnt trying too hard to get a hook into them , it was more interesting to just watch them. later as the sun started to set around 3 it changed and they were all a lot more aggressive again, and the walleye started moving in to our depth, we were sitting on a shelf on the side of a steep dropoff. could have gotten more eyes but we were starting to burn out, up early and a long day. I stayed til 1 am last winter, action seemed to slow off later in the evening well before midnight so I dont usually hang out too late

Hahaha. I love the teasing bit. But you know that's when Moby's gonna come outta nowhere fast, the hammers will scatter and you'll be left holding a piece of mono on the end of your rod.

Great videos. Suspense. Love them all.

its amazing how much you learn from actually watching fish and their reactions to what you are doing and using. Ive learned so much from the camera its crazy. And they do actually help you catch more fish.

Hi there Wayne. Are u still in the south end? Been fishing the north end and pretty slow up here. Having a hard time finding walleye. How deep are u fishing for them? And I see a bunch of shacks around that island in the south, is that where u usually are. Thinking bout moving my shack down there

I'll just watch and learn from the best instead and apply similar techniques. That way when I slay em without the fancy electronics it makes me look like a better fisherman then I actually am :bad_boys_20:
