So I found this bait online which is similar.

Are these soft plastic baits biodegradeable?

Is it possible that this has been in the fish for a long time or would it have pooped it out whole if it was recent?

Spray it with Gulp! juice and use it again.

I caught a laker at spray with a gulp jig body inside. It was starting to deteoriate and pretty much crumbled when I picked it up. No way to know how long it was in the fish, but it was breaking down as advertised.

Caught a laker with a 5 inch senko worm in it once, all discoloured likely in there for a while, read of a study being done on trout in ontario out of doors on the effects of them eating such baits and different ones couple years back not very encouraging results as for mortality rates in those fish that did injest them.

I went camping and I caught a rainbow and I cooked it whole in the fire.

As I peeled the skin off and got into the meat. I noticed that the belly was full of liquid plastic.
