Last Saturday, Ogre & I made the 3 hour drive to the south country to fish with Dago. It was a super early start; as you can see, we were already on the lake when the sun came up...

Dago & 2 of his buddies were in his big tent, another of his pals was set up in his tent, and I hung out with Ogre in his tent. Turned out to be a gorgeous day; got a bit of snow & a bit of wind for a while, but not much of either. This was my weapon of choice...

My first of the day...

Slightly better...

"You gonna eat all that sandwich, Mr. Ogre???"

http://imageshack.us/a/img822/8839/p1261175.jpg (http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/822/p1261175.jpg/)

I switched to a little jigging spoon with a chunk of dew worm; got this small 'eye plus about a dozen perch before I had to re-bait...

Catch & release (into the grease!!!)

It was fun watching the perch on Ogre's camera. At one point, Ogre put on a Lil' Foxee jigging minnow & started bouncing it off the bottom; drove those perch nuts- they got super aggressive on that thing!
Shortly before we called it a day, we saw another little walleye come in & head towards my hook; watched the tip of the Marmish rod dip slightly, and pulled this guy up...

You wouldn't believe what I got that walleye on, but I'll tell ya, anyway.
I had been fishing with the jigging spoon & had a small red single hook about a foot & a half up the line. I had tried a couple different types of bait, but had only got a couple perch on it; got way more on the spoon. After a while I just stopped putting bait on that hook. That didn't seem to bother Mr. Walleye...

He tried to eat the red hook!!! Crazy little 'eye!

Looks like time to call it a day; still have that 3 hour drive...

My wife & I had a dang fine meal of perch the next day. Filleted 'em & cut 'em into nice boneless chunks; rolled 'em in flour, then dipped 'em in an egg wash. Coated half of 'em with Italian seasoned bread crumbs & the rest with crumbled french fried onions, then deep fried the lot. Good lord almighty, they were fantastic!!!:sHa_shakeshout:

Shouldn't have left, Kevin. But I'd only seen small ones all day, the big ones all seemed to be drawn to the other side of the tent :angry3:

All in all an awesome day. Dago and his buddies were awesome hosts.

@Kevin, how did you do on your alternate lake?

Looks like an awesome day guys. Then again, with Bob's photography skills he could make a truck stuck in the ditch with a flat tire in the middle of a storm look good.

Looks like some good eats.
