Although often frowned upon, Hunting is a sport that many from across the province participate in and it is an opportunity for people to harvest natural healthy meat to feed their family. Often people think that those who hunt are savage or barbaric. Which is often a false assumption, and if hunting is done within the laws there is nothing wrong with it. It is the same as many other hobby.
The benefits of hunting, include conservation and prevents over population in areas that have a high number of animals, a healthy alterative to beef, wild meat is healthier than beef. A three-ounce serving provides of wild meat contains only 134 calories and three grams of fat, including only one gram of saturated fat. Beef gives you 259 calories for the same three-ounce serving, and 18 grams of fat, including seven grams of saturated fat.
Hunters that obey the laws set by the Alberta government can harvest there trophy without disrupting the land.
