Three of us went out last Saturday and found 20+ Moose sheds. Most of them are fresh or last years and in fairly good condition. The season has just started so hopefully we will find a few more.

So I am looking for somebody who carves Moose Horns as there are a couple of great ones that would look real nice on the office wall!

Thank you

This is my brother-in-law's work. The first one hangs in my living room... an early birthday present from my wife.

Cool stuff, there was a guy in Radiums local street market selling carved antlers. So nice and pricey but i can see why, takes alot of skill to make it look good.

Yes he does. All three of those were commissioned pieces. You can be as involved as you like in deciding on the scene. My wife gave general specifications (running wolves and mountains) and left the rest up to his discretion. If I remember correctly, the second one was part of a series of three. The person who commissioned them had very specific scenes he wanted depicted.

I posted his website below, his email is there. If you want his phone # PM me; I'm loath to post it on a public forum.

I need to take a better photo of mine... the detail is washed out by the flash... with carvings like this it is all about light and shadow.

There is a native guy in/near Wetaskiwin. I lost his contact info. Man was he good.
Our team made a gift to the Japan National team years ago of a carving of an elk.
Wish I still had his info. Maybe this will trigger someones memory?

My mom made these more than 25 years ago. We would go find sheds and she would put wildlife scenes on them and we would sell them to tourists (lived near Jackson Hole, Wyoming). Perhaps not as fancy as some of the others above but I thought they were still cool looking.

While the wife and I were travelling in Alaska I also saw the antlers turn into eagles...the bases were carved to look like a head and the fronts the feet and the palms were the wings. They were very cool.

Great pieces Jason.....wish I could see the buffalo one abit larger. Fantastic art work. I think the greatest challange in doing that art would be to stomach the smells of the ground bone. Once again Jason.....great work...Marco

Thanks Marco

Thanks for the kind words. As for the smell it really depends on the bits you use. If you use wood bits or dull bits they will burn thier way through. I like to use bits for bone surgury, as they cut the antler and thus do not smell if they are sharp. Here are a few close ups of the jump for you.

These pieces of art look great in the pictures, and of course they look much better in person.

I bought a carving from Jason for my Dad on his 65th b-day. Very fitting gift for a sportsman!!

Thanks again Jason.
