Im getting ready to get out and down some mangy dogs. just wondering what calls people are using. i know the restrictions on electronic calls are, well rough here. looking for some feedback as to what is working for electronic calls, whats good in the other forms of calls. and also if anyones having success mimicing by mouth. like i said just looking for some input, has been a few years since ive been out and back then, youd just toss a jack rabbit tape on a speaker and watch em come running for miles back home in sask.

I've been using hand calls. Both distress as well as howling. Haven't had much luck with howling. ( I'm kinda inexperienced with howling) I have had success with rabbit in distress.

called in two yesterday with a female howl and they held up so i put on the fox in distress and they came in at lighting speed.....waited for them to stop and they did not.....I was sitting on a hill 100 YARDS to the bottom I thought they would come out right under me....but the vanished:thinking-006: If I knew that was going to happen I would have shot them on the run.......I WAITED TOO LONG!!

Electronic calling takes the sport out of it......buy a reed call and get good on it. Only been out once this winter, called one in, 100% sucess rate for 2013.

been out 2-3 times and no luck here... distress calls for jack rabbits and howls. hope the warm weather packs the snow and lets them move around more.

I jist used my elk call and made it sound like a distressed rabbit, called in 2 yotes. Stupid thing even came back after I missed the first shot.

Dieing rabbit call. I find the yotes are far more likely to come to the call in the bush. Setting up and calling them into wide open fields with a rabbit in distress call has never given me much luck. Way more action when you head into the bush and call.

Doesn't surprise me that you would miss at 50 yards:sHa_sarcasticlol:

I paced this one off at 330, the second one was probably 380 or so, to far for a running shot lol. Remember that one I shot at your farm at 312? that was sweet...

called in a double with a howler doing challenge howls, had to wait them out for a while though, they came in slow stopping every 20 feet it seemed like to sit down and howl back at me for a bit. once they got to 250 i dropped the closest one. the second circled around us and came into about 170 but my buddy missed it. seen at least a dozen coyotes and 2 foxes this weekend just driving around.
