Had that happen to me hiking a trail with headlamp on, went right for my head from 30 plus feet up, that is when I learned we had flying squirrels in the province. Gets your attention hiking solo in the dark. I ducked in time and the thing caught a tree about 2' off ground while I got the lamp on it to figure out what just bomb dropped me. Their belly is very light, good thing as the headlamp lit it up in time to save me some scratches on the face and a full blown yardsale on the trail.
