Edmonton area lakes

Hello, I'm looking to go out ice fishing for a day and was wondering if there are any lakes fairly close to Edmonton that a guy can drive onto? It doesn't really matter what kind of fish... I just want to get out. Thx.

You have a few options. West of the city where I do most of my ice fishing there's wabamun, which I believe you can drive on but watch for flood water, as it was bad last time I was out there. You may not catch a ton but there's some real hogs on there. If you're okay with a further drive I would recommend chip lake. West of wildwood just north of highway 16, no secret on where to fish. Park by the 20-50 trucks out there. The pike are small, but expect action all day long. Hope this helps! Good luck, tight lines
