Caught this guy yesterday and I belive it is my personal best whitefish measuring in at 55cm long and 34cm girth.....I don't know what it would weigh as I couldnt find my scale but I have caught 4 lb whites before and this guy seems a bit bigger.....I would say it was pushing 5 lbs.....Any guesses or anyone with a calculation to a rough weight by the measurments?

Bugger put up a good fight too boot!!

Cheers
Mike

***Edit just looked up a fish calculator ....(length x girth x girth ÷ 800) = 4.85lbs:sHa_shakeshout:

Don't know if this is accurate for whitefish or not?!?!?

Very nice catch ! Had one a couple weeks ago that got away from me and gave a good fight for a few mins. Thought it was pushing the five lb size as the three lb came out the hole with no problem.

Thanks for posting !

Mike your buddy has a very nice brace of Lake Whitefish there ... mmmmmm good..

i find that when you get in the 24 inch range to 25 inch the Lake Whitefish get fatter and the real humps start showing.. imho

My buddy Tim got one last year it was 25 inches in looking and measuring i said 5 # plus .. on scale in town it weight 5# 3oz and took our club last year

Yeah well this one was 21.65 inches a 25 inch White is huge ....I would like to see a pic!!
This guy was fat and had a bit of a "hump" started i don't know if you can tell from the pics but that fish is twice a thick as the others too.
Fun part was he was caught on 4lb test and a hand line!!

David, isn't it you in the first and third pictures?

Those are dandy whitefish you folks have there. I believe I haven't caught any over 21" yet. A couple whites I got from Pigeon a few years back might have been close to being over, but I didn't measure them then.
