just looking through my regulations and some of the lakes have numbers beside them any way to use those cause i think the give you the location

Your question has intrigued me to check this out and this is what I've come up with. The regulation maps use a province wide grid system, the Alberta Township Survey System. I used PP1 since that is where do most of my fishing.

Take Clear Lake, coordinates 14-25-W4. Follow the numbers up the right side of the map to 14 and go from right to left to number 25. W4 is west of the 4th meridian, which is the Sask border.

Another one uses an extra number at the start, Bullhead Reservoir 28-8-4-W4, go up on the right up to 8 and right to left to 4, 28 is the township section. Each township is separated into 36, 1 mile squares. This would be useful if a lake was small and you need to know which area of the township you need to be.

I am no expert as this was a learning experience for me tonight. Funny thing is that I've never fished at either of these two lakes. Too many lakes, not enough time.
