Hey guys, just in the process of getting a 280 AI spun together, and was wondering what you've had the best luck with as far as powder and primers in you rifles?

My rifles like R-22 and Federal 210s, behind 140gr bullets.

How consistent have you found, R-22 to be as far as changes in temp,

Thanks by the way

I have used R-22 in two 280AI rifles, several 7mmremmag rifles, and two 6.5x55 rifles, and we have yet to lose a game animal due to the temperature sensitivity of R-22. The temperature sensitivity of R-22 seems to have been blown way out of proportion.

Mine does it's best work with IMR 4831. I have the exact same rifle as elkhunter11. RL22 doesn't seem to be quite as good in mine. I also use cci 250 mag primers and 140 gr bullets.

Federal 210 Match primers, Nosler Brass & IMR 4831, this has worked very well for me with Barnes 145gr LRX and 140gr Barnes TSX.

h4831 in both of mine, 140gr ttsx bullets and federal primers, never did try any 280ai headstamped cases, just fireformed my 250rem cases, tryed every diffrent combo on my custom 280ai and that was the only thing that worked, it was very finicky, my Cooper likes just about any combo. and shoots them well.

IMR 4831, and 150's, set off by a CCI BR2 works for me.

I am about to set down this road again and will be using VV-165, RL22 and H4831sc with 160 Accubonds. All have a history of 2900-3000fps.
We will see how it goes.
