Whites are great, but you need variety. Pike has a nice fishy taste so for battered it's nice as well. Walleye????.......what do those taste like in Alberta?? ;)

Add in some salmon, halibut, ocean ling cod and rockfish and it's perfect. If you ate one type if fish all year, it might get stale. All are great mixed in with the moose, deer, goose, lamb and some store bought chicken n pork.

Well, if you do pike right, it's just fine (i eat a lot),, and both type of whiitefish are just darn fine too, and walleye are just fine,,, I dont think any fish tastes bad though, some recipes I dont like but most I do.

The pike I get come from healthy bodies of water, and I cant remember an iffy tasting pike. Also my fish rarely make it to the freezer and if they do, they are in there a week max.
