Anyone ever try rotten meat for burbot bait or any fish species?

I have beef cubes and chicken balls sitting in tupperware containers getting ripe as we speak, I am at my witts end with burbot.

I wonder if rotten beef cubes would attract Pike to.

Greatly appreciated, the meat has already spoiled a bit, so 3 days in Garlic juice gettin' more stinky should hopefully bring in the Burbs or pike this weekend.

Pickling does the same thing then again most people put garlic in while pickling.

We used to buy a jar of minced jarred garlic and soak our minnows in them for burbot fishing.

I have use chicken livers that soaked in garlic dill pickle juice for 3 days in the sun. Then I salted them to make them a little more solid. They were disgusting but they caught burbot.

You dumped out the liquid and added salt after? Or what did you do?

You want to dump the liquid first, the salt will suck the liquid out of the fish/ whatever other meat you are putting in there.

Exactly and that way they don't get freezer burnt and last a heck of a lot longer. Been working like a charm all season!!
