so just found out that in august i am going to mayerthorpe for a family reunion and was wondering what are some good lakes to fish may or may not have a boat as we are meeting my uncle from up there who fishes a lot i know he will know a couple but want to know what the lakes are like up there thanks:)

Carson (now called McLeod) is approximately 45minutes away and has a nice boardwalk for shore fishing. Not sure how the trout will bite in August.

Lac Ste Anne is a little south east of there for C&R walleye and pike (unless you have tags for walleye).

You could try the Pembina river, it has walleye,pike,etc.

Ummm. Is that lake not dead, or very close to it? might be a bit tough getting a boat into yhat slough.

Pembina River, or Chip Lake are all close...

I've caught Walleye out of the Pembina. Tends to be pretty low and weedy in August.

Get back to my PM - That sounds suspciously like my family reunion.

I believe there is a stocked trout pond close to sangudo.i never caught much out of paddle river, but its an option.

that would be the Paddle River Dam Pond they stock around 5k of Rainbows a year. Have you ever had success at the Paddle River Reservoir? I'm thinking of going there this year heard good things about the fishing.
