Fishing near GP?

I'll be going to trade school this May/ June, in GP and was wondering what kind of fishing opportunities there are in the area? I would like to find some places close to GP that I can hit on week nights. Since I'll be staying in my travel trailer I'm also looking for places further away where I can take my family camping on the weekends.

I'm going to bring my canoe out, if anyone is interested in doing some canoing/ fishing trips on the rivers in the area get in touch with me.
