Drove up with the new dock to Calling. Some open water around the edges out to about 20 feet, more open near the river outlet. raining steady, so the ice is fading fast. Expect it gone in about a week.
Frost is in the ground about a foot down, and the buds on the trees are closed. Conditions on cut lines are perfect for growing rice, and frankly, there is standing water everywhere up there.
