I found these pic's on an old memory stick that my fishin buddy from WPG sent me a few years back, they were taken by one of the guides who just got a new toy while we were on one of our trips to Plummers, Trophy Lodge on Smith Arm of Great Bear Lake, NWT.

As you can see it's a good size Arctic Grayling, .... amazing fish with a big appetite, that's not camera shy!

Enjoy ....

I'm pleased to read all the great posts, to clarify, these were taken at least 10 years ago by the guide (Robyn ??). My Buddy in WPG was his friend and that's how we/I got the original jpg's & all I'm doing is sharing the pic's as they are trully amazing. I don't recall what camera he used but GBL is crystal clear and you can see the bottom in 30+ fow. Unfortunately, I wasn't the guy in the boat that took the pic of the prize laker, but wish it was mine.

BeeGuy ... correctly identified the first pic is two Lakers, I cropped & enlarged to 300%, the smaller one has clamped down on lunch & this caught the attention of the other fish.

Simply stunning pic's , I have read that this is quite common . One story infers the loss of a 10-12 lb Laker getting ripped off the anglers line by a much larger cousin. Thanks for posting , must of been a rush.

Fish Gunner if you want to hear a fish story, Andrew Flood, our guide shared two, that I continue to pass on till this day.

His first was when he took two Americans into a shallow back bay & they spotted a dead 50lb+ Laker lying on the bottom in 10-15 fow with a huge Sea Gull stuck sideways in the fish's mouth, the Gull's wing was stricken out one of the Lakers gill's ... Andrew said the Laker actually drown, what a way to go if you’re a fish. I read Lake trout are slow-growing and long-lived. In the NWT, it may take 15 years for a Laker to reach 2 pounds, he suggested this fish may have been 60 or more years old.

His second story was when they were drift fishin & a 30lb+ Laker came up behind the boat and smacked the S/S prop blade on his kicker, while in the up position, he said .... http://www.golfwrx.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/default/WTF.gif ...... I’d say that was an aggressive fish.

Fact or Fiction, these are the guide’s stories, just sayin.
