Lots of ice on the lakes around Edmonton and north. We are in need of some real warm weather and nasty winds. It is already a later ice off than last year. As long it is gone by the May long....

I can't see the ice being off by May long in Northern Alberta, Net fisherman were driving on Utikma yesterday, and my buddy has a cabin not far from Pinherest and you could drive on the lakes no problem.

GOONBAG,all the lakes in the south are wide open ,fishing is a little slow but should be picking up soon ,there are more hatches starting when the days are warm ,lots of babys in bouvios lake but still fun on the flyrod ,hoping to go out to pain today ,i was told last night that dippenvat is toast ,winterkill i guess all lakes have been stocked . will let you know how today goes.:hat :hat

Hows is Gull And Sylvan? Need to get my new rig in the water and get it broke in (10 hours) i live in peace river don't think we will have open water till July:( Does anyone know if you can break a 115 in with a snorkel?

gull had about .5km of open water at the shallow south end at the park.

They just stopped driving on at pigeon, but still walkable.

Was at Sylvan yesterday and the ice is off for about 300 yards at the pier. Looks like it will still be a little while before you can get a boat on there.

Way the weather has been we all might be pushing ice on May long. Only happened to me once in the last 12 years and that was in Manitoba.

Hit Newell April 14 and managed to catch a release a few. Still haven't finished spawning.

Made a trip to Bonnyville yesterday and the ice was off all water bodies visable from the Highway.

Ice should be off all lakes by next week.
