Haven't been able to fish for the last month and a half but we made out this weekend for a couple of afternoons on Wab. Saturday was big fish day where we iced a 14# and lost one we estimate to be over 20#. We had her at the hole but she had rolled her self in the line where it was hooked to a treble and was centered behind her head. No matter what we tried we could not get her up a 10" hole because as soon as you tried to guide her up she would centre in the hole with about 3" of her snout on one side and the rest of her body on the other side. As a last ditch effort we tried to drill another hole to widen the one she was in but she took a run that got her tangled in the auger and broke off. Last year we had another big pike that did the same thing but we managed to turn her up the hole. We got a couple smaller ones and lost a couple more.

Yesterday we had plenty of action but nothing too big. We fished the same flat in about 8-10' of water. We iced about 6 average sized pike and one 8#.

Everything was on tip ups. We used large herrings and med sized smelts. Ice was solid and had no problems driving on.
