Edmonton fishing

Hi, I am eager to get out and catch a fish today, perhaps in the nsr in edmonton but I've never done any fishing in the edmonton area. Was just wondering if somebody would be kinda enough to point me in the right direction and could maybe tell me what gear would be best. I normally just use spoons but Im thinking that's not a good idea right now cause the river is prolly pretty murky. Any help would be much let appreciated thanks

If your going to be chucking hardware just stick with jigs. Cheap and affective.

thanks, ive actually never fished with jigs. I also see alot of people have been using anchovies what is your take on that. do you use them?
